Is it a blue or a purple?
Both, and it moves between them. The base is blue with a violet wash; how much violet you see depends on how much light is on the panel.
Is the flake coarse?
No. It is a fine, dense flake — up close it reads as sparkle, and from a few feet away it reads as a smooth metallic sheen.
Why do two panels of the same roll look slightly different?
Flake finishes are directional. Panels cut at different angles reflect light differently, which is why keeping the roll orientation consistent across the car matters.
Will it look the same as on my screen?
Probably not exactly. Blue-violet is one of the shades screens push hardest toward either blue or purple, so expect a small difference between the display and the film.

Finish and appearance
Diamond metallic with fine flakeThe diamond flake is suspended in the colour rather than sitting on the surface, so what you see up close is a dense sparkle, and what you see from a few feet away is a smooth metallic sheen with more depth than a solid colour of the same shade. Direct sun brings the flake forward and pulls the violet out of the blue. Overcast light flattens the flake and the colour drops toward a cool navy. At night, under warm street lighting, it tends to read as a dark blue with only a hint of violet — the flake needs a strong, direct source to do its work.
Blue-violet is a difficult colour to photograph and a difficult one to display: most screens will push it either toward royal blue or toward purple, and rarely land in the middle where the film actually sits.
