Size/ColorPearl Black / 5FT x 50FT

Pearl Black is a deep black with a pearlescent character — like polished black pearl, a black that keeps its depth in daylight instead of going flat. It is a colour-change vinyl film supplied as one 5 ft × 50 ft roll, for drivers who want a black car with more going on than a plain gloss.

  • Deep black with a pearlescent sheen — keeps its depth in daylight rather than reading flat
  • Acrylic-based air-release adhesive, repositionable during fitting; dry application
  • One roll, 5 ft × 50 ft (250 sq ft gross) — enough material to plan a full colour change; usable coverage depends on your cut plan

FAQ

Is Pearl Black the same as Piano Black Gloss?

They are separate colourways. Pearl Black is presented for its pearlescent lustre; Piano Black Gloss is the straight high-gloss black. Compare the galleries of both before choosing.

How visible is the pearl effect?

Subtle. It shows as depth and lustre in good light rather than as a colour flip, and it reads most clearly across curved panels.

Can I reposition the film while fitting?

Yes. The acrylic-based air-release adhesive is repositionable during installation.

Does panel orientation matter?

Yes. Pearlescent films read most consistently when every panel is oriented the same way, so plan your cuts for orientation as well as for size.

Will one roll wrap my whole car?

Depends on the vehicle. 250 sq ft of material is not 250 sq ft of installed coverage — measure your panels before assuming one roll is enough.

Finish and appearance

Gloss, pearlescent
At a glance this is a true, deep black — the reference is polished jet or black pearl rather than charcoal or grey. What separates it from a plain gloss black is the pearl character: in good light the surface holds a soft, deep lustre instead of collapsing into a flat black plane. The pearl is subtle up close and most readable across curved panels.

The surface reflects clearly. Direct sun brings out the pearl depth and the brightest highlights; in shade the film reads as a straightforward deep black; at night under artificial lighting the lustre follows nearby light sources and the car reads darker overall. The pearl character is a finish description, not a claim of a separate protective coating or a match to any paint formula.

Dark colours are as sensitive to screen calibration as light ones, and pearl effects photograph differently at every angle. Treat the on-screen shade as an indication rather than an exact match.

Appearance varies with lighting, viewing angle, panel shape and display.

Plan your material

This roll measures 5 ft × 50 ft (250 sq ft gross area). It does not guarantee coverage for a particular vehicle.

  1. Measure panels individually, including edges and curves.
  2. Check cut direction and seams against the 5 ft width.
  3. Allow for alignment and recuts; confirm the plan with your installer before cutting.

Installation and care

The air-release adhesive helps trapped air move toward an open edge. The film can be lifted and repositioned during installation. Apply as directed in the instructions supplied for this film.

Wait 24–48 hours before the first wash. Hand wash with pH-neutral car shampoo and avoid abrasive or automatic brush washes. For removal, use heat-assisted removal as directed for this film; paint condition and installation time can affect results. Test a small area first.
